The task was to take an existing Bluetooth speaker and redesign it to serve a completely different target market or industry. The existing speaker was a conventional speaker used for general use with little shock absorption, waterproof abilities or visibility. 

The new target market was construction workers, so these missing features had to be implemented. A highly visible orange glass filled nylon case was designed to be made using injection molding manufacturing processes. Silicone was used to reinforce the buttons and ports and to add water ingress protection. Steel bars were added to the corners for shock absorption and to give an industrial look.
